about

This album, our second LP, navigates the craziness of life in the big city and tells stories of dreamers, drinkers, wise tales and fantasies.

It was recorded in the Noize Fabrik studios in Berlin in October 2018. The official record release took place at Artenschutz (Berlin) on April 27, 2019.

Jon tunes the banjo, strums the mandolin and howls out vocals, except for that one time Felix got brave. Otherwise, Felix is the washed-up bass player and hums along in the background. Tobi plays sweet licks and sings alright. Alex fiddles like a crazy person and sings as deep as a well. Tuz makes some cool noise on household supplies.

Featuring the incredible Jessica Farrell and her beautiful harmonies. Pete Thomas brings an old accordion and out-of-tune piano to life. Our friends James and Tobi Jr. joined us drunkenly to sing Beer.

This record was produced, edited and mixed by the astounding Pete Thomas. He made us sound half decent. Job’s a good’n! It was mastered by Redrawpaw. Pablo Moura Letts turned our butts and longing faces into art at the Whisky Store in Ohlauer Strasse, Kreuzberg. Our love goes out to our wonderful friend and Managerin Zaz and to our friends and family who supported the making of this album.

The Broken Jug Ramblers Berlin, Germany

Old timey whisky music straight out of Berlin since the summer of 2015. The Ramblers perform traditional songs and their original songs in the streets, parks and bars of the city, on classical appalachian instruments, such as guitar, banjo, spoons and washtub bass.

Their first EP "Live in Kreuzberg" dropped in July 2016.
